Thirdly, she was a dogged worker. She took action and really kept our home afloat. I rarely saw her sit down and put up her feet. She was not fast but patiently did the next thing that needed to be done. Action is a great tonic to depression.

Someone once asked a medical surgeon, “what do you do when you are operating on a patient and they begin to die?“ He said that you discipline yourself to not panic but focus on the next thing that needs to be done. That was my Mom - constantly busy, calmly moving to the next task that needed attention.
